Top FREE Tools Every Notary & Signing Agent Needs in 2025 (Grow Your Business Fast!)

Starting or scaling your notary business doesn’t have to break the bank. Whether you’re a brand new notary or a seasoned loan signing agent, there are tons of free resources that can help you learn, grow, and market your services. In this post, I’ve pulled together some of the best ones I’ve personally used (or recommend!) to help you level up—without spending a dime.

Aside from your Secretary of State’s website, the NNA is the most comprehensive, go-to resource for notaries in the U.S.

✅ They offer:

I like to think of the NNA as the "Google" of notary info. If I have a question, that’s where I start.

🔹 2. Social Media (YouTube + TikTok)

Want behind-the-scenes tips and real talk from people actually doing the work?

Social media is packed with:

  • Tutorials

  • Day-in-the-life videos

  • Notary hacks

  • Equipment and software walkthroughs

YouTube is full of content creators sharing free value every week. If you’re more into quick videos, TikTok is also a goldmine.

📌 Check out some of these creators

🔹 3. Facebook Groups

If you’ve ever been stumped by a notarial certificate or unsure how to handle a unique client situation, Facebook groups can be lifesavers.

💬 You can:

  • Ask questions and get real-time help

  • Post photos of confusing documents for feedback

  • Learn from old threads and discussions

👉 Just remember—always cross-check advice with your state laws. Not everyone in a Facebook group is an expert, so use common sense.

I recommend joining state-specific groups for more tailored help, but there are great nationwide groups as well!

🔹 4. Free Loan Signing Agent Resources

Training to become a Loan Signing Agent (LSA) can get expensive, but there are a few free resources worth checking out:

EZNotaryClass has:

While it’s designed for California LSAs, much of the information is universal.

The NNA also has free sample loan signing packages available on their site.

🔹 5. Signing Platforms to Join (For Free!)

Ready to start getting signing jobs? You need to be listed on platforms where companies look for notaries:

These databases are where signing services find notaries for RON and in-person appointments. Many will work with newbies too, so don’t be shy about signing up early.

Also, check out 123Notary—they have a massive list of signing companies, including reviews by other notaries so you know which ones are worth your time.

🔹 6. Bonus: Apostille Services

Looking to add a high-demand service to your business? Apostille processing is a great add-on!

And guess what? There are free resources to learn it, too.

🎓 Judi Lawrence (aka “The Apostille Queen”) shares tons of helpful videos on YouTube and collaborates with Notary Coach (Bill Soroka) for free monthly webinars. These are full of tips to help you start offering apostille services in your state—even if it sounds overwhelming at first.

🔹 7. Marketing Your Notary Business for Free

You can have all the skills in the world, but if people can’t find you… it’s tough to grow.

Here are some free tools that’ll help you market yourself:

  • Google Business Profile – A must-have to show up in local search.

  • Calendly or Google Bookings – Make it easy for clients to schedule with you.

  • Wix – Build a free, professional website in minutes.

  • Canva – My absolute favorite tool for notaries. You can design flyers, business cards, social posts, logos—even full websites. Tons of free templates are available specifically for notaries.

Final Thoughts

You don’t need to spend hundreds of dollars to get started as a notary or loan signing agent. These free resources can help you:
